What is a Fund Run?
We are hoping it will be our biggest fundraiser of the year! On September 27th, all STEM Lab students will run a set course as part of their physical education class. Beginning September 14th, students will ask family, friends and neighbors to sponsor them by either donating a flat amount or a dollar amount per distance. Kindergarten through 2nd grade will run a half mile, while grades 3rd through 8th will run a mile. Pledges will be collected before the day of the run, we recommend pledging online. Prizes will be awarded to the students!
What is our goal?
Help us reach our goal of $12,500 by the 30th of September.
Where will the money go?
All funds will go toward PTO’s ongoing support of STEM Lab’s budget. This supports STEM’s ability to provide differentiated, small-group learning for ALL STEM students with an emphasis on technology. Last year STEM Lab PTO provided $17,000 for new chromebooks. Through all of our efforts, STEM is able to provide a rich learning experience!
What do the students gain from this experience?
A fun race day, an emphasis on healthy lifestyle through exercise, and a chance to earn prizes by reaching fundraising goals with pledges!
So what are these prizes?
Here’s the best part, instead of little prizes we are planning an afternoon of fun for the students and families. If we reach $12,500, Kindergarten through 5th grade will receive a Kona Ice party and 6th through 8th grade will receive a color run party on October 2nd. If we reach $15,000, Mr Shields will sleep in the school on October 2nd!! We would love to see as many STEM families as possible on this day to help us celebrate our success.
